I’ve been reading news about Michael Jackson passing away. I mean how can you avoid it when everywhere on the internet, his name is posted in big bold letters. So one comment that irked me is
“America is messed up because people are mourning a pedophile’s death, Michael Jackson”.
While true that it is messed up to mourn for a pedophile’s death … the relevance of the person and his achievements far outweighs that. I’m not so certain about the result of his case, but the reason why people are mourning for him is not because he might be a pedophile, but because he definitely influenced the music industry in a worldly level. What I mean by worldly is not exaggerating either, his influence has passed the USA boundary, as far as Asia, Middle East (maybe), Africa, Australia … you name it, a person will know who he is unless he/she has been living under a rock or a cave. How can you punish a person for his wrongdoing and ignore the rest of what he has done for the world. You could say he is a legend; he became the most searched topic in the internet. And no matter what bad deeds he committed (you could say the same for Hitler), on every history book, Hitler’s name will always be mentioned. And in this case, on every music discussion, somewhere along the line, Michael Jackson’s name will be mentioned along with Elvis Presley, The Beatles, etc.
As a proof, here’s a youtube video to show how popular Michael Jackson is in Japan. He surprise visit SMAP and everyone was shocked. And SMAP has got to be one of the most popular bands in Japan, but they still felt like they had seen a ghost.
– RIP MJ

I don’t exactly remember what I was searching for, but somehow I ended up watching one of the clips for this Korean variety show called Xman in youtube.
This show is so funny and exciting especially when you realize that the ones making you laugh are real Korean actors and singers. The best parts I would say are any clips with Yoon Eun Hye and her love triangles , Crazy Hwayobi , Eagle Eyed Lee Jong Soo and pretty much any Dangyunhaji clips.
As many of the comments say on those youtube clips, why can’t american reality shows be this funny? I think there was a show like this in MTV hosted by Nick Cannon where they make dirty (big emphasis on dirty) jokes to win. Like why can’t they make shows that are funny without using lame jokes like “your mama is so fat, blah blah blah.”
Especially recommended to those Korean entertainment fans because some of the guests are former members of Shinhwa, HOT, Babyvox, DBSK, Super Junior and other Drama or Asian Singers. It’s fun watching your favorite idols come to life and make fun of themselves right!!!!

Having a job, for the time being, has made holiday shopping much easier, well at least shopping for myself and my family. The answer to it all was online shopping, which I admit, even though I am a computer savvy person, I never trusted online shopping until this year.
At first I just wanted to buy mangas for cheap online (the rare ones which will never be scanlated because of licensing) so I checked out ebay and amazon.com. I’m so glad that I tried them because I finally got the mangas I’ve always wanted at a good price which arrived at my door quickly. Really, now I can’t believe I’ve never tried it before. There are so many good deals online.
After mangas, came DVDs and Bluray titles @ YesAsia, Amazon (I thought they just sold books), then video games at ebay ( by the way, there’s great sales on PS2 games so check them out). For holiday deals, the best is probably YesAsia ( had 40%-80% off deals on Asian dramas and movies) and Amazon (had almost missed by a day the buy one get one free bluray deal). Best bluray movie was probably the Harry Potter 1-5 sale which cost me like $104 bucks. Never bought any of the movies before plus I still haven’t seen 5 yet and bluray means better quality which is so worth it.

It seems that this past 5 months I’ve been waiting for packages come to my door every week. Right now waiting for the movies and a few more mangas to arrive. I need to stop this new addiction of mine after I finish my work and going back to school since I’ll be a poor college student again. Need to save save, ahh need to pay my college loans soon.
Wasn’t this topic very random. Had to express my happiness even though its momentary.

One of my hobbies is designing websites and playing around with new web technologies. So far I’ve incorporated the use of AJAX especially with Jquery’s help. But ever since I saw the image carousel rotation at http://www.amazon.com/ , I’ve been trying to learn Flash. I looked for tutorials all over the net as well as bought some books at ebay. The best web sites I’ve seen for Flash plugins are included in the blogroll links in the right side >>
If you want to learn flash or just look at cool examples of what others have done, these sites will get you started.
